Recipe of the Month: Okra stew (yakhnet bamieh)
Ingredient
1- 30g of Vegetable oil
2- 450g of Lamb cubed
3- 100g of sliced onions
4-20g of minced garlic
5- 50g og green fresh minced coriander
6- 500g of Okra
7-230g of freshly squeezed lemon juice
8- 2g of Black pepper powder
9- 6.5g of Salt
10- 250 of water
11- 500g of tomatoes cubes
1- Add the cubed lamb to the 30g of oil and fry (on low fire) in a deep pan until golden brown
2- Add the green cut coriander, minced garlic, sliced onions to the brown mix and let them cook for about 2-3 minutes together
3- Add the okra, pepper, salt, water and cubed tomatoes . Stir all the ingredients together and keep cooking until the okra get tender. Add the lemon juice and turn fire off.
4- For Serving: You can serve the okra/bamieh hot side to steamed rice (upon taste)
